SHRM-CP

  • If you hold less than a Bachelor’s Degree (HR-related): You require 3 years of experience in an HR role
  • If you hold less than a Bachelor’s Degree (non-HR): You require 4 years of experience in an HR role
  • If you hold a Bachelor’s Degree (HR-related): You require 1 year of experience in an HR role
  • If you hold a Bachelor’s Degree (non-HR): You require 2 years of experience in an HR role
  • If you hold a Graduate Degree (HR-related): You’ll need to be currently working in an HR role
  • If you hold a Graduate Degree (non-HR): You require 1 year of experience in an HR role

SHRM-SCP

  • If you hold less than a Bachelor’s Degree (HR-related): You require 6 years of experience in an HR role
  • If you hold less than a Bachelor’s Degree (non-HR): You require 7 years of experience in an HR role
  • If you hold a Bachelor’s Degree (HR-related): You require 4 years of experience in an HR role
  • If you hold a Bachelor’s Degree (non-HR): You require 5 years of experience in an HR role
  • If you hold a Graduate Degree (HR-related): You require 3 years of experience in an HR role
  • If you hold a Graduate Degree (non-HR): You require 4 years of experience in an HR role

What is the exam format?

SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP exams consist of 160 multiple-choice questions:
– 95 knowledge
– 65 situational judgment

• Both exams include “field test” items that do not count toward a candidate’s final score.
